It’s been quite a while now since I last posted a blog post here. I’ve been busy in the last 2 months because my current venture keeping me busy and require lots of time. Currently I’m studying PHP programming language because as an individual whose primary income comes from online earnings I need to be more familiar with the most popular programming language in the internet.
This year is very critical for me in terms of life, and career. I don’t want to discuss further on why this year is critical but I’ll let it happen first before I will post it here. If you’re asking what happen to my SEO career? Well, I have some offers from old clients to be their SEO specialist but right now I’m not interested. I’m applying my SEO skills on my blogging and few websites that I’m developing since last year. I’ll probably start declining the offers I will received in the next 2 years because I want to concentrate on my blogs and websites because I believe this is my destiny. I need to have websites that I can monetize in the next 10-30 years to provide me a stable income.

Finally, I bought my first car. It was really a dream come true. If you still remember I’ve bought my laptop because of blogging and SEO last August. After few months of hardwork on optimizing my site and blogging, part of my dream came true. I’m very excited to drive my first car today. I’m just waiting for few more hours and the former owner of 1991 Mitsubishi Gallant will give the key to me today. I have few more plans before Christmas that I’m looking to purchase. And my next target is to buy an iphone or a digital camera.I’m currently looking for a digital camera and iphone review in order to guide me on my purchase. Reviews are very important in purchasing a product. Don’t forget to read all the reviews you can read before buying a product.

Everybody in SEOPhilippines.com is asking for the updates of the said seo contest. Still no updates from contest organizer, especially the SEOPhilippines.com founder Marc Hil Macalua. I’ve suspected that this contest will be moved or will not continue few weeks ago because their contest code is still not working properly. I’ve tried to register with the contest few weeks ago, Oct 29 I received the Bayanihan SEO confirmation link. Attached on this email is the contest code. From this instance it made me realize that the contest code is still manually distributed for anyone who wants to join the contest. And also I saw the leaderboard page of this SEO contest, it’s not automatic.
I know there are lot of individuals who put hard work on their site just to rank on this said SEO contest. It’s really frustrating for some individual that they haven’t heard anything from the contest organizer. I think they deserve some explanations why there are no first checkpoint of this SEO contest. I think it’s a not a good gesture for a gentleman to stay quiet on this situation. There are lot of people counting on you and don’t let them lose their respect to you. This is just my point of view of this “ongoing SEO contest”. Let’s see if the contest organizer will came up with an official statement on this issue. I think the contest organizer don’t really like this to happen but they still have an obligation to their contestant for an explanation atleast before the first checkpoint. Nevertheless there is still time for the explanation. Regards to the contest organizer and to the contestant.
Bayanihan explanations?
From Wikipedia:
Bayanihan (pronounced [bajɐˈnɪhan]) is a Filipino term taken from the word bayan, referring to a nation, town or community. The whole term bayanihan refers to a spirit of communal unity or effort to achieve a particular objective.

Another popular search engine/webmaster seminar will be held in the next couple of weeks, PubCon Las Vegas 2007. The said event will be held at Las Vegas Convention Center on Dec 4-7. I would love to attend this seminar because I would love to hear new knowledge from people like Matt Cutts, and Guy Kawasaki. I really admire this two guy on how they spread knowledge to the people. Both are very intelligent.
The event will be highlighted by keynotes from Craig Newmark(craiglist.org founder), and Matt Cutts(Google’s quality control engineer). In case you haven’t attended any PubCon event, you will learn the personal experience of successful webmasters and some tips on how to be successful. It’s a good start if you want to learn how to be a winner and learn new things around the web. I’ll give more information about the event on my next post, till then.

I just want to greet all SEO and Webmaster in the United States a Happy Thanksgiving Day. We also celebrated this occasion today. We had a great dinner together with my loved ones. Also during thanksgiving day, we also exchange gifts. I received a PC Security Camera. I’ve always wanted to have this camera to be able to protect myself and our house. What I like about this camera is they have night vision to be able to see intruders even at night.
I think I would upgrade this security cameras into 4 security cameras to be able to monitor the four corners of our house. I also wanted to have a security alarm that is attached this security camera. Also I would like to have a software that can broadcast what is happening outside our house even where outside the house.
I hope you all enjoy your Thanks giving day. Till my next post.

I’ve been away from the SEO world for couple of months now. That is why I haven’t updated this blog often. I’ve been travelling a lot lately and just bought my new Canon EOS 400D / Digital Rebel XTi which is one of the gadget on my wish list. This digital camera has 10.1 megapixel CMOS sensor. Perfect for taking pictures of outdoor sports activities.
Ok, going back to the topic. Almost 3 months ago, when I’ve decided to leave my day job and become a freelancer again. I’ve spent 1 year and 3 months on my previous day job as an SEO Specialist before leaving my former company. I can say that most of the time is I’m happy with my previous company because I’ve met lot of talented people that helps me grow and learned a lot from them. I left my former company because the working environment suddenly became unhealthy because of some personal issues that afterwards became the spark plug of a quarrel. Although I’m not involve on this quarelling, but I cannot work efficiently with these people around me. Too much for that.
Now, as a freelancer I’m back again for looking for my own clients, sleeping late at night, and not so stable income. But what I really like as a freelancer is
1. Sleep as long as you want.
2. No boss. Only if you will take jobs per project not per hour
3. You don’t have to travel via PUV. No traffic and fare increase.
4. You don’t have to work atleast 8 hours per day straight and 5 days a week. Ofcourse it’s still depend on you on how long you want to work.
5. Your salary is depends on your effort and hardwork.
Right now I can say that I won’t go back as an employee again. I received few offer from other company looking for an SEO specialist but I decline them. I’m still considering their offers though but not now. Maybe if I got bored again as a freelancer.

While browsing a Business Directory, a friend told me that he experienced a Google ToolBarPageRank (TBPR) and BackLinks (BL) update. And this made many webmasters angry (I guess) because some of the most respected blogs in blogosphere like problogger.net for instance which is somewhat very frustrated on the recent PR update. And according to Andy made a table on the update.
This update has threatened lot of bloggers and webmaster regarding selling links. Google gave penalty to big time bloggers so that others will follow. And I don’t think this will stop webmaster from buying/selling links just my opinion.

In the last 4 days, I’m having a problem with Godaddy domain registration services. And by far the worst customer service I’ve experienced in my 3 years in webmaster business. First I register a domain then I’ve changed the nameservers of the domain. After that I’ve wait for atleast 24 hours. After 24 hours, I tried to email their customer support asking about the status of my domain and what do I get in return, I received a effin ready made answer about changing the nameserver. What the heck, I said in my mind. I’ve tried to be nice to them and still reply to their email explaining that I’m not stupid that I don’t know how to change the nameserver. Again they replied to my email and they told me that to contact my hosting company regarding the issue. I know for a fact that it’s not my hosting that has problem but their domain service because my namecheap account is working perfectly on my host. I just input my nameserver and it works after few hours. In my part I don’t recommend Godaddy domain registration service.
Too much about the rant on Godaddy’s domain registration service. It’s very important that you have other alternatives because if things went bad, you still have other domain registrar that you can transfer your domain.
UPDATE 2010
Godaddy seems to improve their services and products. So this blog post had already served it’s purpose.

First, I would like to mention the new Paypal layout today, and it looks nice. And going back to the topic, you can earn as much as $1,000 through their referral program. It’s another opportunity to earn money online. According to Charles you can now withdraw your Paypal Philippines money through Unionbank EON. You can now start exploiting the window of opportunity that Paypal offers. By just referring someone to signup for Paypal Business, or Merchant account you can 0.5% of their payment volume.
With these opportunity given by Paypal, I can now do some business in Ebay or other affiliate program. Paypal Philippines is now fully working and you can withdraw your Paypal money now directly to your bank account. Although I still haven’t used my EON card but my VISA credit card works for withdrawal, in this way I can pay for my credit card bills from my Paypal Philippines Account because HSBC doesn’t issue overpayment check according to their agent which I recently talked to via phone.
Can you withdraw your Paypal money through Credit Card? Yes, but unfortunately it will be counted as payment to your credit card. Usually credit cards don’t issue overpayment check so, the best thing to do is if you accidentally withdraw your Paypal Philippines money to your credit card is to use your credit card in paying bills and maybe groceries.
