Another chapter of ituloy angsulong today. It’s friday and tomorrow would be my rest day in office but not in home. I’m planning to start off few local websites this weekend. This is my first time to create a website locally. Hopefully it would be successful like the site I’ve created for international market. Another Google SEO video by Matt Cutts. I must admit if I listen to each video of Matt Cutts I treat it as music to my ears. This helps me boost my SEO knowledge more.
Lets have a review of the SEO Myth by Matt Cutts.The first question is all about sites on the same server or IP. I’ve always saw this discussion on some SEO/webmaster forums if Google will penalize them if they link each website in one server. Almost all the time they always advice that Google will penalize them for having lots of websites in one host or ip. But Matt Cutts told on this video that if you’re an average webmaster you don’t have to worry about it. He mentioned 3-5 sites there but I bet if you have less than 20 websites that won’t be a problem on Google SERPs.
And another question has been answered was, if you’re planning launching websites with millions of pages you must worry about it because Google may find your site spamming if you can’t provide good information on each page you’ve launched which Matt Cutts very positive about it. If you have millions of pages I can say that these page might be lacking of useful content. Just launch few thousand pages then add more on the following weeks or months and you’ll be fine.

To my surprise while checking my traffic at Google Analytics I saw my traffic went up to almost 100 visits. After 6 hours of launch SEO pinoy went up to this level. It was really an achievement for me. I have attached here the screen shot of the traffic I’ve received in the last 6 hours. Well too much for that now my target is how my website will be indexed in 3 days by Search Engine. As an SEO this is your first task to get your website indexed by major Search Engine such as Google, Yahoo, and MSN. Want to know how? I will give you few pointers on how to do it.
1. In order for Search Engine to be able to indexed your website it must have a live link on website that is already indexed by their bots. But in order for you to be indexed fast by these Search Engine you must have a live link on website that they’ve give importance. It means that i.e. in Google. In Google, websites are being visited by bots according to their PageRank (PR). The higher the PageRank the higher the possibility that these website will be visited by bots. But be careful in placing your links in to these higher PR websites. Before I’ve only care about PR as the only important factor for Google to crawl this website but I was wrong. Google don’t give importance to website classified as link farm. Link farm wont do you any good in indexing your website. Also in passing of PR. Link farm is a group of irrelevant hyperlinks in a website. It usually easily to determine if its link farm when the number of outgoing links are in huge number.
2. If you’re already a member of a public forums it would be very useful if you could place your link in your signature. Usually if you’re a member of reputable forums the chances is your link will be indexed fast by Search engines.
3. Directory submission is still a good option. Although Google already gave less importance to links in directory especially if its not Yahoo directory or DMOZ but MSN and Yahoo still give weight to this directories. Meaning if you have a live link on these directories the chances is your website will be indexed by these 2 search engines.
4. Article submission is still effective. Be sure you will submit to reputable article directories and don’t submit too much copies of your article or in the long run you will suffer from it.
5. Link Exchange is a must. Not only that your website will be indexed fast but for SERP rankings also. Be sure you’re not linking to website that is not relevant to your website. One-way link is still the best rather than reciprocal links. Remember Search Engines looks on quality of backlinks rather than quantity. These pointers are really a basic SEO that you should know by now and nothing special about it. Still content is king. If you’ve placed a good content on your website you will surely received one-way link and good traffic.
While checking the ituloy angsulong contestant I saw that many SEO Pinoy has file multiple entries for the contest. Hoping that they will get multiple entry also on SERPs. Mostly are from free blog hosted websites ie blogger, wordpress, and etc. The SEO contest will be giving away 300k php and atleast 40 winners will win at a minimum of 1k php or $20 if you will convert it in dollars. The biggest question is do you think the many the websites you’ve entered in the contest the more chances of winning?
I think I have to guide these people who are doing these. The answer for the question mentioned above is Yes and No. Why Yes? It’s because if you know how to do it Yes but I must say No if you’re just a newbie to search engine algorithm. We know that interlinking websites has a great factor in Search Engines algorithm but also remember that Search Engines do devaluate links from same host. So if you have a multiple website that is hosted on same IP it won’t give any weight to your website.
The bottomline is always make sure that you have links from different host. If you can buy dedicated IP or virtual host for your website do it. Search Engines will see it as a different host. Which will give you more weight to rank higher in SERPs.
My site is hosted by free blog hosting website, what am I gonna do now?
As I’ve said link from same host won’t give you any good effect. Instead it will only give you some bad effects. Search Engines might treat your sites doing some link spamming. So better not link all on each site. Try adding random links from each of the website.
Why I’m ranking in Yahoo?
SEO Pinoy now on top10 in Yahoo. MSN suddenly kick me from their SERPs. Strange that this is the first time my site has been kicked out from MSN SERPs. Too much for that I would like to share you some SEO 101 again.
In case you’re interested( which I obviously bet you’re interested because as you can see the site that are on top 10 for ituloy angsulong keywords are sites thats been around for quite a while now.
What Yahoo love and what they don’t like?
Actually there is no special strategy in ranking in Yahoo. But what I have proved is Yahoo don’t really like websites that has lot of affiliates program. Since I’ve started my SEO career, ranking in Yahoo SERPs is always a nightmare to me.
Also Yahoo loves website that provides original and fresh contents. Nothing beats this SEO technique for decades now. “Content is always King”. Backlinks and indexed pages will follow if you continue doing great content for your website.
In general just follow yahoo guidelines to be able to rank in Yahoo. So to summarize my observation there are 3 steps in ranking in Yahoo SERPs.
1. Get rid of affiliate program
2. Provide fresh and original content for users
3. Follow Yahoo guidelines.
These 3 are just the basic of Yahoo Opimization. Simple but will took you around 30-45 minutes everyday to update your pages. So if you want to get into Yahoo SERPs always concentrate on content. No fancy tactics needed to rank in Yahoo.

About the 1st and 3rd question it doesn’t give me interest to hear it. But the 2nd question is really interesting. To give a brief answer to the 2nd question here it is what I’ve jotted down while listening to Matt Cutts Video.
“Make it crawlable. Use text browser. Use lynx. Use sitemaps, use Google sitemaps tools.”
“Making sure your site is crawlable, great contents, try to find ways or some reasons why users will love your site, return to it and bookmark it ”
This is generally the formula to make your website visible in major Search Engines. This is how you will rank in SERPs very simple right? Go do the dirty work by writing interesting contents and make as many returning visitors for your site and eventually bookmark your site.

SEOPinoy.com is still on the rise. Yahoo seems to love now my ituloy angsulong entry. MSN still there on its previous rankings at top30 and Google on Top 50. Well I’m still feeling comfortable that I can beat all the odds that my site has no “ituloy angsulong” in the domain, newly registered domain, and has no PR.
Why I’m doing these? It’s because this is my ongoing experiment on the 3 search engines. I joined this SEO contest for me to be test my SEO prowess. I love challenges thats why I’m really up to this SEO contest being the “underdog”.
Based on my observation the site that are in top 10 are sites which has keyword rich domains, with high PR(although PR is not a direct factor in SERP it only has the advantage of getting index fast) and old domains.
Top position in SERP = domain age + indexed pages + regular content update + keyword rich domains.
If my experiment mentioned above won’t get me in top 10 at the 3 Search Engines in the middle of December. I will used another SEO techniques that all of you will be interested. But right now I’ll just keep doing what I’ve told you on my previous post ( Basic SEO techniques).
BTW I’ve changed the look and the structure of the site that’s why some of my pages are not being indexed right now. But in the next few days all will get back to normal. Google will soon put me on top 30 again. 
Finally I’ve decided to write about Black Hat SEO which I promised to you last week. I’ve wrote this article because I’ve wanted those people who aren’t aware of the danger it will bring to your website.
What is Black Hat SEO?
Black Hat SEO is an SEO technique of manipulating search results by illegal methods. Black Hat SEO’s are either used to boost rankings of their site or to make a competitor’s site to be banned by Search Engines.
What are the Black Hat SEO methods?
Cloaking - other words for stealth. Search Engine will see pages different from human. Usually affiliate programs are being displayed on these pages.
Excessive keyword repetition - Because search engines rely on keywords in their algorithm keyword spamming is one of the common techniques used by webmaster to manipulate search results.
Hidden text or links - Also a keyword spamming techniques. Hidden text are being used to rank to some keywords. These will help in ranking in to keywords that are being search by human because as I’ve already told keywords are part of Search Engines algorithm so if you place lot of hidden keywords on your site then the possibility that you will gain traffic from SERPs is huge because you’ve put lots of hidden keywords in your site.
Deceptive redirects - Misleading someone to be redirected to another pages .
Doorway pages - A webpage is redirecting to another website that’s main purpose is for marketing their products or affiliate programs. This can simply be done by a 2 lines 301 redirect.
What are the Black Hat SEO’s Myth?
I have read few people claiming that their victim of black hat SEO. Because their rankings suddenly dropped in SERP. The reason that they told that their victim of Black Hat SEO is because bad neighborhood linking to them. Just remember that Search Engines wont penalize you on these type of instances otherwise all spammers out there will do these to their competitors. Just don’t reciprocate to them if you don’t want to get penalize by Search Engines.
What are the things you should do if you suspect that you are being black hat?
Just check all your pages if their working fine. Find the pages where they manage to infiltrate and do the black hat technique such as deceptive redirects, cloacking and doorway pages. Because it is the most probable cases that will happen to your site.
What if I found out my competitors are using black hat SEO?
Report them directly to Search Engines.
While checking seobunker.com about my rankings I feel relief now on my Yahoo SERP rankings.I’m on top 11 now. (wohooo). Because I have few luck in my Yahoo SERPs in the last 6-8 months. Finally Yahoo put me in their SERP. 
Anyway what are the things that Yahoo like? and dislike? Well I will give you few pointers on my research while studying Yahoo algo . I have this client who approached to me to get her back in Yahoo SERPs. While checking the whole site of the client it seems that they have all it takes to get back in SERPs but just wasn’t sure what happen to their site. So I’ve told the client to give me couple of months to research on what happen to their website.
After couple of minutes of checking their site’s backlinks, and indexed pages I’ve found out that there was something wrong with their indexing of pages. So what I’ve did was to keep pushing the link building for the site to get indexed.
After couple of months I decided to write for Yahoo if the site was banned. To my surprise Yahoo! replied to my email and told me the site was banned.
Here is the complete content of the email I received that I want to share you guys to prevent your site being banned by Yahoo. I hope this will serve as a warning for those people who wasn’t aware of it.

So what are the signs that your site was banned by Yahoo! ?
If you’re indexed pages is not increasing i.e. if your site has 500 pages and after a checking your monthly indexed pages and still your indexed pages remains the same. And also you’re site is not ranking in SERP while in Google and MSN you’re ranking on their respective SERPs then its better to email Yahoo if your site is banned or not. In the next few days they will promptly reply to your email about your inquiry.
