SEO Pinoy - Search Engine Optimization and Online Marketing

Well after 16 hours I have decided to check if my page is indexed already by Google, MSN and Yahoo. And guess what I’ve found out. MSN is still the fastest to pick up a website.

What’s new? Nothing just want you to emphasize that among the 3 Major Search engine they’re the fastest to indexed a website. This is part of the SEO procedure I’ve told on my recent post on how to get listed on Search Engine database fast and get rank on SERPs.

Why I wrote these blog for?

I just want people to realize that MSN is fast and easy to rank.

What’s the secret to rank in MSN?

1. Keyword rich domain

2. Lot of keyword rich contents - Make as many pages as possible.

3. Get as many backlinks as you can- it doesn’t necessarily mean quality backlinks. MSN seems to prioritize quantity rather than quantity.

4. Submit to as many directories as possible. Use good anchor text in your directory links.

5. Put a signature link on your forum’s account with good anchor text.

How effective this pointers in ranking to MSN?

I’ve been through lot of experiment about MSN and all of them are successful. All websites I’ve handled went to top10 in MSN for the target keyword I’ve handled.

Is there any side effect on implementing strategy?

Yes, Google don’t really like most general directories because most of them are link farm and contains link with bad neighborhood. You’re site will be penalized sooner or later in SERP. So for you to be able to rank in 3 Search Engine you must have a balance SEO strategy.

Why I’m sharing these secret?

Well I’ve always believe in good karma.

Yes, the experiment is still successful. The 3 days plan became 1 day only. It’s really effective. It indexed all pages of my “ituloy angsulong” website.Here is the proof

So whats next in our ituloy angsulong experiment? Our next goal is to get SEOPinoy.com to be listed on SERP. How to do it? Simple, you must continue what I’ve told you on my previous post . But this time we should go into a much deeper level and we will also tackle the different SEO techniques that I haven’t told in my previous post.

First in order for us to get listed in SERP we must first be patient. Our target would be 1 week before we could see our links in atleast top 1000. But as of today SERP only showing top 300. Ofcourse our keyword target would be ituloy angsulong.

Actually we have to consider lots of factor in order for you to rank in SERP. But at this instances since ituloy angsulong is a new keyword in Google we have to disregard the keyword suggestion tool and sandbox.

Among the 5 pointers there are still few SEO basic that you will learn from these experiment.

1. Keywords density is one of the factor that Search Engines measure in ranking a website. Since our target keywords is only “ituloy angsulong” then we will focus on putting content that has ituloy angsulong on it. There is a limit in putting up a keywords in your website. Make sure it doesn’t look like spam.

2. Since our domain (seopinoy.com) is not a keyword rich domain for our experiment I’ve decided to just put a category named “ituloy angsulong” so that it will still a keyword rich URL. MSN really like keyword rich domain. As of now our website is on top 70 in MSN I will estimate that in the next 2 weeks seopinoy.com will be placed on top10 soon. The bottom line is make your URL be SEO friendly. Don’t use the numbers in your URL instead use keyword rich URL like “http://seopinoy.com/2006/11/03 /how-your-website-will-be-indexed-in-3-days-by-search-engines/”.

3. Still content is king. If you’ve continued adding useful content to your visitors you will be guaranteed lot of returning visitors. As we’ve stated on my 1st pointer about keyword density you will have to add the keyword you’re targeting in your content but be careful you will be mark spamming if you don’t limit it. Just make it look normal.

Yahoo finally got me indexed for ituloy angsulong campaign

Yes, the 1st stage of the experiment for indexed pages is now completed.
Yahoo, MSN, and Google indexed my ituloy angsulong entry (seopinoy.com).
So the next stage now is to rank in SERPs.

Now we have to look now on providing our readers and search engine the content they’ve needed.
Since my feedreader meter is now rising as of today it has 7 readers.
I have to double my effort on providing quality content for readers and search engine.

Ok lets start now the 2nd part of the experiment. Yahoo got me on top 300, MSN on top 60 and Google on top 100 which is way ahead than I expected. It means I’m doing good as of the moment. Now we have to set another goal for the experiment for ituloy angsulong. Since we rank Google as the best Search Engine in terms of SERPs I have to make the deadline about 2-3 months before we reach the top 20 atleast. It means that in January ituloy angsulong entry seopinoy.com must reached that level. In MSN I will look estimate that seopinoy will be on top10 in the next month. And in Yahoo? I really have to think about it because I haven’t got much luck in Yahoo in the last 4 months because of Yahoo algo change.

Since we have already a goal on ituloy angsulong we have to make the next step. The dirty job called writing quality content. It’s always true that “content is king”. No matter there is an algorithm change your website will surely have stable rankings.

Another strategy is to keep your homepage fresh. Since ituloy angsulong SEO contest is just almost 4 months we have to do the homepage as fresh as possible. Maybe we could add atleast 1 article a day which will only took me 30 mins- 1 hour.
The third plan is to make the website as huge as possible by adding forums, directories, top sites and news section. This will increase the indexed pages of a website and it will solidify your rankings in SERP. I should have done this first before launching the website but because of lack of time I could only do few task at a time. Since our first stage of the experiment was completed already now we could move in these task.

Link partners. I love link partners. This is one of the intangible in the world of SEO. Because in SEO friendship is being built from one person to another. The more you stay as an SEO the more friends you will gain and also link partners. In my almost 2 years as an SEO I have gain lot of friends from around the world mostly in USA. But as of now the SEO world is already conquered by the people from India. But sooner or later Filipinos will out throned them. This is one of the benefits that ituloy angsulong contest. To promote the SEO in the philippines and discover the hidden talent and intelligence of Filipino in online world. I really do believe that Filipinos can really go out there and compete in other nation. The bottom line is treasure your friends in the internet because sooner or later they will surely help you.

Link building, construction of the website and building content for the site is our goal as of today and until next week. So till then you will have the update on how to get into top10 in 3 major Search Engine SERPs. But watch out for the the upcoming days because I will teach you onpage optimization and link building in a deeper understanding. Part of the onpage optimization is how to deal with 301 redirect, 404 error page and Search Engine friendly URL.

Lets talk about Googlebot how they works. I remember when I’m training a chinese girl about Google Search algorithm I’ve told him about Search Engine spiders. Then after the brief overview about Search Engine Spiders I’ve told him to ask me question on what are the things that she don’t understand. And to my surprise she told me that he dont understand Spiderman. “How it looks like” ? LOL. I was about to laugh at it but hey this girl don’t really understand english well so I just keep my silence and laugh afterwards. It made me realize that for newbie it is hard for SEO aspirant to know what is a bot.

Lets take a closer picture of a bots. A spider/bots are the one sent by search engine to crawl websites. It is an electronic message sent by Search Engine to look and gather data from websites around the world. Google spiders are called Google bots. This our topic for today how Google bots works.

How Googlebots work?

Lets take for an example a sales manager sending a representative to collect data about a certain products they’re endorsing to different houses in their local areas. Google bots is just like these they are one sent by Google to look and gather data so that it will be sent back to Google to analyze how the website is structured and it’s contents.

If someone is linking to your website your site can be crawled by Googlebots. Also if your website is already crawled before then Googlebots will just keep crawling your website much often.

What are the pages Googlebots crawling?

All of your pages will be crawled unless you disallow Googlebots in your robots.txt

Why my site isn’t crawled by Googlebots?

Google crawl lot of pages but unfortunately they can’t crawl all because for some reasons. i.e. your site must have links from high PR websites so that they can crawl fast your website. Also Google missed your website because when you launched your website Google has just finished the most recent crawl. The structure of your website is also important. You may include sitemap in your website so that Googlebots can crawl your website efficiently. This is one of the importance of Onpage optimization. If your host is down at the moment Google spiders went to your site is also a factor why Google didn’t crawl your website.

There are also some issue about Googlebots that webmaster may encounter. Because Googlebots are taking lots of bandwith. So if your site is running from a webhosting with small bandwith, then you will suffer from this Googlebots problem. The solution is to block Googlebots from some parts of the site such as php or asp files. Also you must block Googlebots in your robots.txt for security purpose only such as admin area of your site.

While browsing some popular forums I saw few people still crying for help on how to lift Yahoo banned.
“My site is banned in Yahoo Search What I’m gonna do?” If you’re one of this person still looking for answers on how to get your site back in Yahoo SERPs there are few ways on how to do it.

First you must determine if your site is really banned by Yahoo. Here’s the way how to know if you’re banned by Yahoo visit here and emailed yahoo here.

And I have written here the steps for getting your website back in Yahoo index.
1. First read Yahoo! Search Content Quality Guidelines and make sure you follow all the pointers listed there.

2. And if you think you haven’t violated any rules there in Yahoo! Search Content Quality Guidelines you can email them for reinclusion of your site here

3. After you have done all the effort to change your website so that it can comply on Yahoo Search Content Guidelines and have emailed them about your inquiry for site review and still got no concrete answer from Yahoo. There is still an option if you’re really desperate to have you’re site back in Yahoo there is a dirty trick to do it. Though this is not the best option for reinclusion. Just register same domain with different TLD. With same content. But this time you have to block Google bots in your robots.txt because if you don’t do this you will suffered the penalty by Google for duplicate content. I know few websites do these and they have been re included in Yahoo! SERPs.

Last week my friend told me if there is a tool that he can check his adsense earnings without logging in through adsense.google.com and I’ve thought at this time it is impossible.Luckily after researching about it yesterday I’ve found the answer to his question. Just want to share you guys the tool I’ve found out. Here’s a tool for you that can check your adsense earnings through your browser without the hassle of going through adsense.google.com. Why my friend ask me if there is a tool like these? The answer is so that my boss wont caught him logged in through his adsense account. LOL

Google finally took me on top 40. I’m already on top 29 actually , after 3 days of hardwork (I’m 1000php guaranteed richer now) Not bad right? Also I have already saw few people linking to my SEO blog because they like my content. Thanks for all of these people who believe in my SEO skill. And also saw few people subscribe to my blog feeds. And the traffic is steady also to almost 70 uniques per day. The directory will be live today. You can submit your website for free once it is launched. In MSN and Yahoo seopinoy.com still on their previous rankings for the keywords ituloy angsulong.

Since I’ve already posted the article for on page optimization I’m thinking of another article to post here because I’m running out of ideas. As I have promise I will give you my SEO knowledge about On page optimization. Lets start this session by introducing what is On page optimization.

What is on Page Optimization?

On page optimization is an SEO strategy that deals with how efficient your website will be crawled and indexed. In short On page optimization is how you can make your web pages “Search Engine Friendly”. This is a very critical part of your SEO campaign so make sure you’ve understand them so that you can apply it to your website.
What are the factors that deals with On page optimization?

• Keyword Rich URL - It means that if you’re targeting a specific keyword your URL must have this keyword in the URL. For example my domain is SEOPinoy.com and I’m targeting keywords “ituloy angsulong” I have created a keyword rich URL by adding a category name ituloy angsulong and it looks like these http://seopinoy.com/category/ituloy-angsulong/

• Keyword Density - It is the number of keywords in a page and how relevant is your keywords in your page. So you’ve better make sure you are adding the proper keywords in every page. If for example our keywords again is ituloy angsulong and since it is seo related keywords then use webmaster, SERP, Search Engine Optimization and etc.
• Page Structure - is how you organize your page links. You must have a clear structure so that Search Engine spiders can crawl your website and indexed it efficiently. Use static links as possible. Static links are links that are written in html format. Although Google had already said that they can read dynamic URLs but they’ve also said that ” dynamic URLs with a large number of parameters may be problematic for search engine crawlers in general, so rewriting dynamic URLs into user-friendly versions is always a good practice when that option is available to you. If you can, keeping the number of URL parameters to one or two may make it more likely that search engines will crawl your dynamic urls.”

• 301 redirect - It is always a good practice that you will add 301 redirect on your .htacces . What is 301 redirect? 301 redirect is simply redirecting a page in your site to another URL either from same domain or new domain that you designed to be your main domain . Here is how to create a 301 redirect from webconfs.com
• 404 error is the error you will receive when someone type a wrong URL of your site. As an SEO your obligation is to make a script or instruction for your visitor so that you can suggest or redirect him to another page. To read more about on how to install 404 script in your server read here

• Meta Tags - are tags that are located on every header or a website. You can view it by right clicking on your browser and and clicking view source. Meta tags contain keywords that is relevant to your niche or theme of the website. For example seopinoy.com is an SEO related website so it should have the keywords like SEO, SERP, ituloy angsulong and etc. How important is meta tags? Nowadays the improtance of Meta tags are diminished already because some search engine including Google don’t really give weight to meta tags.

• Search Engine friendly URL - It simply means that URL of every webpages of your site must be keyword rich and use proper separator on your URL i.e. use dash(-) instead of underscore (_) because Search Engine can read dash (-) better than underscore. Its already mention on matt cutts blog also.

• W3C compliant - W3C is the organization that checks Web pages in formats like HTML and XHTML for conformance to W3C Recommendations and other standards. You can validate your site here in W3C validator

• Loading Speed - This is one of the important part of on page optimization because visitors don’t like slow loading pages. You must optimize on how the page loads by lessening the size of every page. For example if you can compress the resolution of an image to lessen the the size of the whole web page. Don’t add unnecessary design in your website if it’s not really needed. Just follow the “KIS” rule. Keep it simple.
