Hostgator Sucks part II

I just want to tell my experience on hostgator because I’m pretty much upset on another temporary suspension of my account. Yesterday I received an email to them and they told me that one of my website consumes 25% of the CPU and they have to temporarily suspend my account without warning again! I’m clueless on what might cause of the problem. So I’ve emailed them to activate my account so that I can fixed the problem. After 12 hours or so I received a response from them

It looks as though 216.8.149.141 ip was hitting your account thousands of times causing it to slow. I will enable the account and block that IP, thanks.

WTF, so they suspend my account because someone’s trying to access one of my sites for thousands of times? Now think again before you will purchase a hosting account on Hostgator.

It seem’s that someone is trying to hack your site. or maybe it is experiencing a ddos attack or a bruteforce software trying to determine your user name and password.

I haven’t gotten any problems with Hostgator for the 2 years I have been with them.

I disagree that shared hosting sucks.

I agree Bro, dedicated hosting is the best. But of all the shared hosting company right now, 1and1 is now leading. I’ve tried hostgator and indeed they suck. Price is much higher but service is terrible. Tried Go Daddy and their servers are fine but 1and1 is much cheaper but quality of servers and service is not far.

Right now I’m using godaddy and it’s one of the best shared hosting that I’ve tried so far. For now, I would stick with Godaddy and not to use any other hosting company.

thanks for the warning … cloud/grid is getting cheaper but not a replacement to dedicated servers but a very good alternative.
